We have the following opportunity:

Occupational Therapist

Full-time, Temporary

37.5 hours per week

The Occupational Therapist has the following key responsibilities:

  • Working with residents in the long-term care setting on a referral basis
  • Conducting the following assessments and best practice interventions for: wheelchairs (including ADP Applications), falls risk reduction, pressure redistribution, ADL and adapted equipment and seating and positioning needs.
  • Electronic documentation and record keeping according to COTO guidelines
  • Delegation of tasks to OTA’s as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be a member of College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario.
  • ADP authorizer preferred.
  • Ability to organize work and identify priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal skills. Ability to work with interdisciplinary team.
  • Previous job-related experience working in long term care and with residents living with cognitive impairment.
  • Ability to work with the elderly in a resident centered care environment long term care.
  • Experience working with seniors is an asset.
