Perley Health has begun work on a new strategic plan and your input is needed.
Perley Health's strategic plan is the official document, approved by our Board of Directors, that guides everything we do for several years. It defines our mission and vision, as well as how we plan to realize them. The strategic plan also ensures:
- Alignment - everyone at Perley Health works toward the same vision.
- Innovation - creates space for fresh ideas and new approaches.
- Growth - anticipates and adapts to changes in the long-term care sector.
- Engagement - the Perley Health community directly informs our future.

Validating the Strategic Plan Framework
We are validating the Draft Strategic Plan Framework with the Perley Health Community through interviews, surveys and a new interactive display. Please visit the trade show booth (across from the Care Clinic), collect a hard copy of the survey, and post a sticky to let us know what the words of the proposed vision statement mean to you!

Sharing What We Heard
During our extensive consultation in the summer of 2025, we engaged with over 360 members of the Perley Health family and broader community, including Veterans, residents, tenants, families, staff, visitors, funders, collaborators, and researchers. We gathered input through interviews, focus groups, surveys, workshops, and more.

From July 16–23, we invited Veterans, residents, tenants, staff, volunteers, families, caregivers and visitors to help shape the future of Perley Health—and you delivered.
Through focus groups, sticky notes, and other engagement activities, you provided thoughtful, practical feedback on what's working well and where there's room for growth. You considered Perley Health's Mission, Vision, and Values, and you shared your experience and your vision for the future. Your input is helping guide the development of our renewed Strategic Plan, ensuring it reflects the values, priorities, and lived experiences of the people who know Perley Health best.

Strategic Plan 2010–2025
Under our current strategic plan, expiring this year, Perley Health has completed a long list of successful initiatives (see list below) and significantly increased our contribution to the community.
- Senior Living: 139 independent-living apartments for Seniors and Veterans.
- Algonquin College partnership: on-site classroom for Personal Support Workers and Registered Practical Nurses.
- The Centre of Excellence in Frailty-Informed Care™: conducts and shares the evidence-based best practices needed to continuously improve care for Seniors and Veterans.
These and other accomplishments, combined with our unwavering commitment to top-quality care, have solidified Perley Health's reputation as a national leader in housing and care for Seniors and Veterans. And the impacts of our work increasingly extend beyond our campus and across the region, province and country.
