9th Annual Century Club Honours 23 Residents
On June 10th, Lupton Hall was adorned in red and gold to once again host a magnificent milestone – the Annual Century Club! Twenty-three residents (including 12 Veterans) joined staff, family, volunteers, and specials guests for an exciting birthday celebration.
Members of the Ozerdinc Grimes Family Therapeutic Recreation and Creative Arts Program welcomed residents into the hall and presented each of them with a boutonniere or corasage, and button. Recreation Therapist and Century Club Master of Ceremony, Rachel Dobson, led the party and welcomed residents to come receive their certificate of membership into the exclusive club from Perley Health Chief Operating Officer, Mary Boutette.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion. Ron Goebel, Chair of Ontario Provincial Command, gave inspiring remarks to the celebrants before accepting a certificate welcoming the Royal Canadian Legion as an honourary member of the Century Club in recognition of the organization's 100th year.
Music Therapist, Patricia Deek and Creative Arts Instructor, musician Dan Campoli, performed throughout the ceremony, as well as provided an entertaining musical arrangement that paired perfectly with a slice of cake.
Happy Birthday and congratulations to the wonderful residents celebrating this remarkable achievement this year.
