80th Anniversary of VE Day

On May 8^th, 2025, Veterans and Perley Health residents joined the greater community at the National War Memorial in downtown Ottawa to commemorate the 80^th Anniversary of VE Day.

Veterans Affairs of Canada graciously invited Perley Health residents to help commemorate the anniversary of the end of the Second World War and subsequent Victory in Europe (VE), and the liberation of the Netherlands.

Residents had the opportunity to lay the wreath on behalf of all Veterans and reflect on the sacrifice made by Canadian troops.

Other honoured guests included General Jennie Carignan, Chief of the Defence Staff of the Canadian Armed Forces, and Dutch Ambassador to Canada, Margriet Vonno.
